Documents to be presented for entry into the United States:

In order to gain entry to the United Stated, depending on your nationality, you must show a valid passport for your intended stay or a valid passport with at least 6 month to run after your departure from the United States, and, in certain cases, a visa.

For certain nations which are exempt from a visa, an electronic travel authorisation is required. This procedure concerns travellers of nationalities whose nations have subscribed to the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). The authorisation is obtained via the Internet, through the ESTA system (Electronic System for Travel Authorization).

It is advisable to submit your application as soon as you book your flight. The ESTA must be requested at least 72 hours before the scheduled departure of your flight. If the 72-hour notice is not given, your application may not have been registered with the American Authorities, in which case you will not be able to board your flight. Additionally, you must bring with you a copy of the authorisation in order to facilitate check-in formalities.

The "ESTA" (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) is available on the web-site: https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/

Among the transport documents required when checking in for your flight on departure from France (passport, return flight ticket, ESTA, etc.), the details of your first night’s accommodation are also required (hotel, street, city, zip code).

Special security measures for flights to the United States:

Baggage checks have been reinforced at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. All cabin baggage of passengers destined for the United States (on departure or in transit at Paris Charles de Gaulle) is subject to search. We therefore ask you to limit the number and volume of your cabin baggage items.

To facilitate the flow through security procedures and avoid delays, we advise you to arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before the scheduled departure of your flight.
