The collection of five ‘Perfect Package’ exercise programmes includes the ‘Costa Del Slim’ and ‘Canary Cutie’, each designed by celebrity trainer Jamie Baird for holiday company XL.com, to help Brits slim in style and combat last minute crash dieting.

XL Airways has scooped the World's Leading Charter Airline award for the third time in five years. The World Travel Awards hosted its annual ceremony in Turks & Caicos on 8th December 2007 and over 167,000 travel professionals worldwide, including more than 110,000 travel agents, voted XL Airways as the number one charter airline.

XL LEISURE GROUP MANAGEMENT BUY OUT
XL Leisure Group announced on 30th October 2006 that it would be acquiring the entire issued share capital of XL Airways Group in a management buy-out from Avion Group of Iceland. The buy-out is led by Philip Wyatt, CEO of XL Leisure Group, Magnus Stephensen, Deputy CEO XL Leisure Group, Michael Stoney, COO of Tour Operating and Geoff Medhurst, Group MD of Tour Operating. The acquisition is conditional upon CAA approval in the UK.

XL AIRWAYS TO LAUNCH INTERNATIONAL AIRLINE IN IRELAND
XL Airways, a leading charter operator in the UK and part of Avion Group listed in Iceland, is pleased to announce the formation of a wholly owned subsidiary in Ireland with immediate effect. The subsidiary, which will represent the airline under the Excel brand, will base its headquarters in Dublin.
The company will provide short, medium and long haul charter services for Irish tour operators and travel retailers commencing in the May-October 2007 holiday season. Target routes from Ireland will include Florida, Mainland Spain, the Balearics, Canary Islands, Portugal, Greece, Bulgaria, Turkey, Cyprus and Egypt. It is anticipated that at least two new routes will be introduced in the mid and long haul market. In the first year of operation, the company expects to carry in excess of 65,000 passengers.

ACQUISITION OF KOSMAR VILLA HOLIDAYS PLC

XL.com REOPENS POPULAR ATHENS ROUTE TO MEET PEAK DEMAND
XL.com is re-launching its former route between London Gatwick and Athens to meet high consumer demand during the peak holidays season. All flights on the route will be in the brand new XL Airways Boeing 737-800 aircraft, which seats up to 189 passengers.
Starting from 21 July 2006 and running until September, weekly flights on the route will operate from London Gatwick every Friday and Sunday, offering regular flights to one of Europe’s most popular tourist destinations. XL.com is currently offering flight-only deals, but will soon launch a range of complete holiday packages to Athens, offering exceptional value for money.
Athens is an ideal gateway city for holidays across mainland Greece, or for island-hopping trips along the coast and throughout the Aegean Sea.

AVION GROUP PURCHASE TRAVELCITY DIRECT
In June the Avion Group which also owns XL Airways purchased one of the UKs leading tour operators Travelcity Direct. As the UK’s largest Independent direct booking Florida specialist Travelcity offers B747 charter flights to Sanford, Florida from Gatwick, Manchester, Cardiff and Glasgow. Travelcity also offers customers the choice of scheduled flights. Travelcity also sells holidays to destinations in the Mediterranean and Canary Islands. Customers can purchase full package holidays or different elements such as flight only, hotel accommodation and car hire. Travelcity also sells tickets to all the Florida attractions such as Disney World.
